Classes are held each day* during four Quadrimesters per year, with two weeks off between each. Many classes consist of two or more 11-week sections in order to cover the material thoroughly.
Level 0:
It is recommended that new students complete the six Departmental Survey classes during their first quadrimester, then meet with an academic counselor to review goals, interests, talents before they enroll in their next courses.
PROGRAMS:
Most of our students intend to pursue the Subjective and Esoteric Sciences, but in order to excel in these subjects (and survive in the other dimensions), a solid foundation in all sciences is required.
Students may take as many classes as they feel they can handle during a trimester.
DEGREES:
To achieve a degree is not the point of studying at GXU. Academic achievement should be a supporting supplement to real life experience, rather than its essence. Students are encouraged to participate and experiment in real world situations concurrently with their studies.
However, many students appreciate clear academic goals and seek “graduation” as a demarcative event point in their timeline between “studying” and “doing”, so our programs are designed to provide this recognition.
At least 300 credits in EACH of the 6 departments and at least 10 credits in each sub-department are required to graduate.
L1 classes = 1 credit
L2 classes = 2 credits
L3 classes = 3 credits
Many classes count as credits in more than one Department.
* ‘Nodians take note: classes are in session on what you call the “weekend” as well.
