Enrollment

TUITION:

GXU abides by the barter system that defines the Gri’xian economy. Students may either work out private trades with their instructors or serve in various capacities within the school (and/or associated organizations) in return for instruction.

Coin is not officially accepted at GXU, though individual instructors who are willing to make private arrangements may accept (or deny) any forms of payment at their discretion.

FINANCIAL AID:

By definition, the barter system does not require financial trade, so GXU does not offer financial assistance. For students who cannot, for whatever reason, fulfil their barter agreements concurrently with pursuing their academic goals, the University offers flexible options for future repayment. Your Academic Counselor will help you make these arrangements during the enrollment process.

ACADEMIC COUNSELING:

Our academic counselors are important resources for all students. They will not only help you choose your classes, navigate the school system, and adjust to campus life, but can also direct you to additional services and advisors for other questions and needs.

Before enrollment, the new student will meet with a counselor to discuss the best options for their situation, talents, limitations, and goals. Continuing students meet with their counselors at the end of each quadrimester to review their progress before signing up for their next round of classes.

Additional counseling is available throughout the year.

STUDENT ORIENTATION:

Orientation tours are held during the full week before the beginning of each quadrimester. The tours include a presentation that covers the enrollment and scheduling processes, counseling options, on- and off-campus resources, and GXU academic standards, followed by an ambulatory tour of the Main Campus. Finally, during a complimentary meal in the cafeteria, students will be introduced to members of our staff, faculty and student body who can answer questions and offer ongoing assistance.

While not mandatory, new and prospective students are encouraged to participate. Orientation days and times can be selected from the enrollment application form. You may also call our main office to set an appointment.
